When the Culture Turns on You, It’s Time to Worry

At a University of Missouri football game on Saturday the largely college student crowd booed during a swearing-in ceremony for new members of the National Guard. The booing occurred when they were asked to take an oath to “obey the orders of the President of the United States.” Jay Leno’s monologue included a bit about how President Obama was such a good speaker he even seemed to believe himself when he told supporters that he really said “you could keep your insurance if it

    George Will’s Column [News]

I had lunch with George Will a couple of weeks ago and, as a result of that lunch, he wrote an opinion piece on ObamaCare for the Washington Post. You can read the article here. He’s a very intelligent and personable guy and we shared a love not only of this country and its history but also of baseball (although he is a Cubs fan and I’m a Cardinals fan). I wish Carl were still around so he could read the article. In 1941, Carl Karcher was a 24-year-old truck driver for a ba

    The President Got It Right

When President Obama spoke to military service members at the Washington Navy Shipyard on August 5th, he made a comment that received little attention but demonstrates that he understands what our nation needs economically.  According to the President: “We need to create a self-sustaining cycle where people are spending and companies are hiring and our economy is growing.”  Source. The question is: How do we get there? To create the economic climate he desires, the President

Interview with Mark Larson | The Negative Impact of Obamacare on Job Creation

On Monday morning, my friend talk show radio host Mark Larson interviewed me on my congressional testimony about the very negative impact of ObamaCare on job creation. Mark always does a great job of getting to the heart of an issue and making it simple to understand. Here’s the link and I hope you enjoy the interview.
