Today Andy also joined Varney & Co. to speak on inflation, supply chain issues, skyrocketing shipping and transportation costs, and how consumers should plan to experience holiday delays. Andy pointed out that “If you are encouraging people not to work….and you’ve got all this government support for not working, it’s hard to get people in those manufacturing plants and in those trucks to get goods delivered and we are seeing those results.” The problem is apparent and will not be fixed until the Biden administration changes its policies.
Also discussed was the restaurant sector and the idea of making outdoor dining areas permanent, to which Andy commented that this could be a real positive for the industry, which still needs a lot of help recovering from pandemic shutdowns.
