Appearances: Varney & Co. – Democrats Far Left Economic Policies are Irrelevant

Yesterday Andy sat down with Stuart Varney to discuss the liberal policies being proposed by left-wing politicians. “The mantra for 2020 should be ‘President Trump is fighting for America’- whether it’s border security, trade with China, trade with the EU, North Korea, the economy or working-class jobs- he is fighting for America and Americans. All the Democrats are doing is fighting the president.”

While socialist policy propositions of free healthcare for all and free higher education might sound like a viable and enticing solution, they would likely ruin the economy. “The people that are making these proposals don’t have a grasp on the facts…these are the kind of proposals that destroy economic growth,” said Andy. “I wish the socialist candidates like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Oscio-Cortez would stop focusing on these ridiculous economic policies… their strength is not economic policy and I think the American people will see through this.”

Also discussed was Bernie Sander’s $15 minimum wage proposition and Andy’s Fox News opinion piece titled ‘Bernie Sanders’ minimum wage proposal is irrelevant thanks to Trump’s pro-growth policies.’ Andy notes that in back 2014 Obama also proposed a government-mandated minimum wage of $10.10 an hour but the congressional budget office strongly advised against it saying it would kill anywhere from half a million to one million jobs. “Today, after just two years under President Trump with his capitalist policies, lower taxes, slashing regulations and encouraging domestic energy, $10.10 wouldn’t even make a difference,” added Andy.

In closing Andy said, “If the people who are advocating this policy would just get out of the way and let the economy grow and let us continue with this incredible economic boom, by 2024 when they’re proposing getting the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, it might actually already be there because of domestic economic growth.”
