Today on Varney & Co., Andy and Stuart Varney discussed the hundreds of billions of dollars that American businesses have stashed overseas and how that money might get repatriated back to the U.S. Watch the latest video at <a href=”http://www.foxbusiness.com”>foxbusiness.com</a><span id=”mce_marker” data-mce-type=”bookmark” data-mce-fragment=”1″></span> Stuart started the segment stating, “if that money from the big tech companies comes back to America and goes to stock buybacks or higher dividends the Left will scream that it’s not going to the ordinary people of America.” Andy argues that American businesses will invest a very significant portion of that money into growth, which will benefit all.
Andy further points out that there is nothing wrong with paying dividends or performing stock buybacks as that will release cash locked up in the system, return capital to shareholders, and overall be good for the economy. Andy also makes the strong point that across the country, we are seeing companies both large and small paying higher wages because of tax reform. This directly equates to more money going to employees. Employees will start to get bigger paychecks, pay less taxes on those paychecks as a percentage, and businesses will invest because they have more money and want to grow. “The economy isn’t just good; the economy is surging – it’s really an incredible time.”
