Last Friday, Andy joined Maria Bartiromo along with Steve Forbes to discuss the most recent CPI data and Biden’s policies post the mid-term elections. The three analyzed that while the CPI showed some “cooling,” when looking beyond durable goods we are still seeing significant surges in services, energy and food prices. Additionally, inflation is still outpacing wage growth. Andy concluded that the CPI data on its own is not a sign the economy is improving, and that we need to consider other factors such as unemployment numbers and PPI data. In reality, “we are [still] facing some real economic headwinds.”
