Appearances: Cheddar/Bulls & Bears – Plant-Based Meat Trends; Robot Taxes and Automation

Andy also joined Bulls & Bears to discuss New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s proposed “robot tax” that would essentially be a tax on companies using automation. Andy argued that de Blasio doesn’t understand the problem. “The problem isn’t that automation is taking jobs away, the problem is we don’t have enough workers,” said Andy. He went on to further solidify his point by adding that according to the August jobs report, there are 7.3 million job openings and 6 million people unemployed.

In closing, Andy clarified that while he isn’t for 100% automation, he does feel automation stimulates growth and doesn’t take jobs away but in turn creates them.
