Today on Varney & Co., Andy argues economic optimism is driving the markets. The University of Michigan reported that consumer confidence soared in October, rising to its highest point since January 2014 – the Index of Consumer Sentiment jumped from 95.1 in September to 101.1 in October. This was well above the consensus estimate. Meanwhile, deregulation and tax reform is fueling optimism which is why the stock market, business enthusiasm and economic growth continues to surge.
